The Cathay website gives no specific information on de luggage allowance for Golf bags. The luggage freedom is 20kg. We presume that when golf bags will not be charged when they are wiPlease contact our local office for further queries.thin this freedom. Otherwise the normal rates for excess luggage will be charged.
A visitor of Golftravelguide e-mailed us with the his experience from a trip from Denmark to Bali. In his case CP considers golf bags part of the ordinary luggage and charges an excess rate of 60 usd / kg. IHe was claimed more in excess luggage than the entire ticket from Denmark to Bali and back. Some hard negotiation reduced the claim, though to about double of the standard fee collected by all other carriers he knows of. On his way out he embarked on a Lufthansa plane and paid the OK fee of that airline. Reversing that route he was completely defenseless to the unadvertised claim of CP that getting his golf bag home again would cost him 15 times the Lufthansa rate because he started on a CP plane. We try to get in contact with Cathay to hear about thair golf bag policy. In the meantime we advise you to Check on forehand what the cost are to bring your golfbag.
